A Warm Place
Materials: paper, colored pencils
Processes: Most of the piece was done by coloring without much planning. The figure at the bottom right was transferred from a drawing in my sketchbook.
Ideas: This piece represents a moment of peace, a sort of eye of the storm, for the protagonist of the project before he takes a final fall down the spiral. In contrast to the first piece, portraying a mouth representing the evil voice inside the protagonist’s head, the eye represents the peace the protagonist feels in this “eye of the storm” moment. The colors of red and black which are used repeatedly in my pieces to be menacing appear warmer and more comforting here, as the protagonist floats from outside the eye, where from afar he can see the dark center of the eye, the depths of the downward spiral he is heading towards.
